Two Dead, Two Injured After Speeding Car Crashes on Moga–Ferozepur Highway

Reports reveal that the accident was caused by overspeeding and a sudden tyre burst, which led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Two persons reportedly lost their lives in the accident occurred on Friday after a speeding car crashed into a divider and rammed into a motorcycle on the elevated stretch of the Moga-Ferozepur highway near Verka Milk Plant Chowk.

Reports reveal that the accident was caused by overspeeding and a sudden tyre burst, which led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

While the media reached out to the Police and Eyewitnesses, three youths were travelling towards Tharike from Bharat Nagar Chowk. The car allegedly was at high speed, hit the divider, flew over it and then struck a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

Man who was on Motorcycle has been identified as 42 year old Jagdish Kumar, was returning home after dropping his children at school.

Shortly after the accident took place, the injured were taken to the DMC Hospital. Jagdish Kumar and a car driver identified as Gauransh were confirmed dead by the doctors. However, two other students travelling in the car are under treatment.

Jagdish Kumar was worker at a Courier Company, was the sole breadwinner of his family and lived with his wife and two children. Gauransh whereas was a Journalism student at PCTE Baddowal.
