First Husband Moves Court, alleges Sarabjeet Kaur’s marriage illegal in Pakistan

Sarabjeet Kaur, an Indian who went to Pakistan on Pilgrimage visa, however then married a Pakistani citizen now again is under spotlight. Her first Husband, Karnal Singh who is in India approached Lahore High Court, seeking annulment of the marriage.

He claimed that the marriage was contracted without legally terminating her first marriage in India.

Sarabjeet Kaur disappeared while traveling to Pakistan with a Sikh group in November of the previous year. She subsequently embraced Islam, adopted the name Noor Fatima, and wed Nasir Hussain, referencing a relationship on social media. Singh’s petition claims coerced conversion, monetary incentives, and breach of Indian law, since Sarabjeet Kaur remains legally wed to him.

The petition, submitted by advocate Ali Changezi Sandhu, contends that the marriage is not valid according to Islamic law since Sarabjeet Kaur did not receive a divorce from her Indian spouse. Singh has asked the court to place Sarabjeet Kaur in a women’s shelter, arrange for her to speak with her children, and carryout a forensic analysis of call recordings.

Sarabjeet Kaur previously mentioned her desire to live with her Pakistani husband, but the court placed her in a shelter home. She went back to her husband’s home afterward.
