SP Harinder Singh Gill of Police Station 7, Jalandhar has disclosed significant information regarding the murder of the five-year-old by her father in Jalandhar. The officer verified that the father suffocated his own daughter to death simply because he could not stand the sound of her crying.
The police disclosed that upon receiving details about the incident, they arrived at the crime scene in Doordarshan Enclave and arrested the father involved.
According to the neighbor’s statement, a case has been filed against the accused, and a detailed investigation has been launched into the issue. The police officer reveals that when the police team arrived at the crime scene, they discovered the suspect Arvinder Kumar in a state of severe intoxication.
He continues by stating that the family consisted of four individuals: the accused father Arvinder, his spouse who does domestic work to make a living, the deceased girl aged five, and another child who is one year old.
According to the details given by the police, the girl was weeping and pleading for food, which led to her being viciously strangled to death by her father. According to the reports, the suspect had been consuming alcohol since the morning and then at approximately 2:30 PM on February 3, the father ended the life of the five-year-old girl after becoming irritated by her screams.
The neighbors also say that the accused did not do any work and regularly used to beat his children and wife. The family had been going through a lot of financial stress and domestic tension. The officer shares that the investigation is currently in the preliminary stage and all other possible angles are being probed to identify if there was any other hidden motive behind the murder. The officer also adds that the accused has confessed his crime and shows regret for his actions.
