In a shocking breakthrough, speedy BMW car on Tuesday night took life of a 24 year old man near Phullanwal Chowk. The deceased was a migrant from Uttar Pradesh, who first got head injury and then died.
He is identified as Laalji Morya, a gardener who lived at Dev Colony near Phullanwal.
Following the incident, there was no action taken by the police. And, people in large number rushed to Phullanwal Chowk, raised slogans against the police.
While the protesters were asked about the incident, they mentioned that the accident occurred at around 11:30 pm when the deceased was heading home on a motorcycle. They added that when he reached near the chowk, the speeding car hit him.
As per the reports, police moved the car involved in the accident to a nearby petrol pump. Instead of taking action against the driver, the authorities allegedly convinced the victim’s family to reach a compromise.
Protesters mentioned that they located the car at a petrol pump near accident site, then brought it to the Phullanwal Chowk and blocked the road. “We will continue our protest till a case is registered and the accused is arrested,” the protesters said.
Protesters further noted that soon after the accident, the victim’s family and friends reached the spot, nabbed the driver and handed him over to the police. However, they alleged that the police let him go. They said the driver identified himself as a lawyer.
