Former Punjab Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar sent to 5-Day Remand in DM Suicide Case

The police reportedly produced Bhullar in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Supreet Kaur and sought a seven-day police remand to further investigate the matter.

Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Tuesday was produce before a local court in Amritsar, has been sent to five-day police remand. He was arrested in connection with the suicide case of DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa.

The police reportedly produced Bhullar in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Supreet Kaur and sought a seven-day police remand to further investigate the matter. After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence, the court granted a five-day police remand.

As per the reports, the Amritsar police on Sunday registered an FIR against Laljit Bhullar after Punjab Warehousing Corporating DM Gagandeep Randhawa committed suicide on Saturday. Bhullar’s father Sukhdev Singh Bhullar and PA Dilbah Singh were also booked.

Victim’s Wife Upinder Kaur, in her complaint, accused Bhullar, his father and PA for forcing her husband to take the extreme step. She accused Bhullar of assaulting, repeatedly humiliating her husband over the allotment of warehouse tenders.
