Jarmanjit Singh’s wedding was to take place on May 5 next month and the entire family was busy with the wedding preparations, but on Saturday, all the wedding celebrations suddenly turned into mourning.
The wedding celebrations of ASI Sarwan Singh, a resident of Model Police Station Shahkot, turned into mourning when his young son suddenly died of a heart attack. The deceased has been identified as Jarmanjit Singh (26).

Father Swarn Singh tied a sehra on his son’s forehead and, crying deeply, lit his young son’s funeral pyre.
While at the spot, several of the leaders were present including Municipal Council President Gulzar Singh Thind, Inspector Nirmal Singh, Inspector Balwinder Singh Bhullar, Shahkot SHO Dilbag Singh, former Sarpanch Jagtar Singh Khalsa, former Chairman Surinderjit Singh Chattha, Punjab Christian Movement Youth Wing President Sudhir Nahar, DSP Nakodar Onkar Singh Brar, City Congress Committee President Laxman Sobti, ASI Jagtar Singh, ASI Kashmir Singh, Simranjit Singh Malasian, Dalbir Singh, Rajinder Singh from CID, ASI Major Singh, retired ASI Gurmeet Singh Uppal, Constable Sukhdev Singh, Constable Ramandeep Kaur, Constable Lovepreet Kaur, Manpreet Singh Mantra, and Jagdeep Singh. Residents from the whole region expressed sorrow after learning about the young man’s passing.
