Class IX student gives birth to son in Phillaur, Minor Boy from Amritsar named in Rape Case

According to the FIR filed by the Bilga police, when her aunt inquired, the girl revealed that a boy from her class in Amritsar, who lived nearby, had raped her.

A 15-and-a-half-year-old girl, a student of Class IX, gave birth to a baby boy at a nursing home in Phillaur. An Amritsar boy, reportedly a classmate of her and also her neighbour, has been booked by the Bilga police in Jalandhar for the rape.

A case has been filed against the boy under Section 6 (sexual assault) of the POCSO Act and Section 65(1) (rape of minor) of the BNS Act at the Bilga police station in Jalandhar on April 20.

Her aunt, a domestic worker residing in Pwadra village of Bilga, informed the police in her complaint that her niece had come from Amritsar and had been staying with her for the last seven months following the death of her father.

The woman claimed that the girl’s mother abandoned her family 13 years prior, and following her father’s death, she took her to her home in Bilga. The woman mentioned that the girl initially reported abdominal pain 45 days ago, leadingto her being taken to a doctor in Nurmahal.

Following another report of severe abdominal pain on April 19, the girl was brought to a hospital by her aunt and subsequently referred to a nursing facility in Phillaur, where the complainant discovered that her niece was pregnant. She gave birth to a son that very day.

According to the FIR filed by the Bilga police, when her aunt inquired, the girl revealed that a boy from her class in Amritsar, who lived nearby, had raped her. As a result, an FIR was filed based on a complaint from the family at the Bilga police station on April 20.

Authorities reported that following a few days of care, the girl was released from the hospital and went back to her aunt’s residence.

DSP, Phillaur, Bharat Masih said, “The alleged rape took place in Amritsar and after a zero FIR at Bilga, the case has been sent to the police station E in Amritsar for further investigation and to trace the boy.”

Harmanbir Singh, SHO E Division, Amritsar, when asked about the case, said he had received no intimation or application regarding the case so far.
