Jalandhar: Mock Drill at Khalsa College for Women, Public asked not to Panic

The Civil Defense Mock Drill is set to be conducted on Friday (April 24, 2026) cross the state. Highlighting this, the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, Varjit Walia has informed the details of the event.

The DC noted that the mock drill will not be conducted across entire city or villages, however, is only on a limited campus. He added that the sirens will sound at the Khalsa College for Women campus.

The exercise reportedly will be conducted at the Khalsa College for women campus at 8 pm. During this, sirens will be heard and a blackout will be imposed for some time.

Addressing the public, the DC Varjit Walia extended an appeal to the public to not to pay attention to the rumors.

Extending the details, he mentioned that there will be a blackout first, after which a rescue and search operation will also be practiced. The entire drill will be limited to the designated premises only.

He added that the purpose of such mock drill is to test and strengthen the preparedness for real-time response in emergency situations. Many agencies significantly including NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), Fire Brigade, District Administration, Municipal Corporation, Police, Health Department, Civil Defense and NCC will participate in this mock drill.
