Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday reported that he had gotten a third death threat within a week, asserting that his circumstances reflect those of singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was fatally shot after his security was removed.

Majithia was present in the city regarding a case related to the cross-examination of AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

Majithia stated in a phone conversation with The Tribune that senior police officials require approval from Delhi prior to granting me protection, which is why they are awaiting instructions.

He further directed his criticisms at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, asking how a “drunken individual” could manage the state’s functions. He claimed, “The safety of Punjab and the country is jeopardized if such incidents occur in the Vidhan Sabha and Parliament, where leaders arrive inebriated.”

Majithia expressed approval for the public mandate in West Bengal, noting that the populace desired change and ultimately achieved it. “Congratulations to the victors, it’s now the time for the new party to take action,” he said.

SAD leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal, who was with Majithia in court, stated that when a political figure receives death threats, it is crucial for the state government to respond firmly.
