AAP claimed the BJP was “shaken” by the “public-welfare focused” initiatives being implemented by the Punjab government, which is the reason the BJP is attacking AAP in the state.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday arrested Punjab Industries Minister Arora following raids in connection with an alleged Rs 100 crore GST fraud-related money laundering case involving certain entities linked to him.
He was taken into custody under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following early morning raids at his official residence in Chandigarh’s Sector 2.
The AAP labeled the ED operation at Arora’s home and his arrest as politically driven, while Hampton Sky Realty Limited, where the Punjab minister held a director role, expressed confidence in the legal system and stated that the company is fully collaborating with all regulatory bodies and will maintain this approach.
Joining a protest in Jalandhar against the BJP, Cabinet minister Mohinder Bhagat criticized the ED’s actions against Arora and also attacked the BJP-led Union government for engaging in “high-handedness” against AAP leaders.
Bhagat claimed that the Centre was using various strategies to hinder Punjab’s progress.
It is improperly using the ED solely against the AAP leaders by executing searches at their locations. It clearly indicates that the Union government is engaging in over reach. “Punjabis do not accept the arrogance of anyone,” CM Mann remarked while addressing media.
In Hoshiarpur, AAP leaders claimed that the BJP was exploiting central agencies like the ED and CBI against AAP members. They claimed the BJP was “shaken” by the “public-welfare focused” initiatives being implemented by the Punjab government, which is the reason the BJP is attacking AAP in the state.
