Amidst the ever-rising inflation in Punjab, ordinary people have suffered another major setback. Just moments after Amul raised milk prices, Verka has also increased its milk prices. The new prices will have a direct impact on people’s pockets, as milk, the cost of everyday needs, has now become more expensive than before.

Reports indicate that Verka has raised the price per liter for different grades of milk. The firm indicated that this choice was influenced by escalating prices of animal feed, transport expenses, and a consistent rise in production costs. Under the new rates, consumers will now need to spend more foreach packet.

The increase in milk prices will most impact middle class and low-income families. Individuals already distressed by the escalating costs of cooking gas, vegetables, pulses, and other food products are now becoming increasingly concerned due to the rise in milk prices. Particularly the concerns of families with kids and small tea and milk vendors have grown.

Simultaneously, the ever-rising inflation has disrupted the family finances. It is said that ordinary products are constantly rising in price, which is causing the financial strain on the average person to grow.

Amul has raised the milk price by Rs 2 per liter, and the revised rates will take effect from May 14.
