As per the sources, a complaint has come ahead after Pathanmajra criticised Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi leadership, and Krishan Kumar, Principal Secretary, Water Resources, over the floods in the state.
Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, MLA (Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly) of Sanaur, Patiala has allegedly been booked under rape charges. He on Tuesday evaded the Punjab Police team that had gone to Haryana to arrest him.
The rape charges were laid on him on Monday night. Sources reveal that the MLA escaped the police, fled in white SUV. Police as well mentioned that gunshots were fired while they went to arrest Pathanmajra.
The FIR(First Information Report) against him was filed on Monday at the Civil Lines Police Station in Patiala at 10:17 pm. Pathanmajra’s ex-wife filed the complaint against him, mentioned that the offence was committed from February 12, 2024 to June 12, 2024.
There has been laid several of the charges on him. He has been booked under Section 376, 420 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code under the offences of rape, cheating and criminal intimidation.
A Zirakpur based woman has accused the MLA of misrepresenting his marital status while entering into a relationship that eventually turned into marriage in 2021.
Another charge on MLA Pathanmajra
After Punjab police reached Haryana to arrest AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, he escaped the police and fled in White SUV. As well the gunshots were fired, and the police official was reported injured.
After such an incident, Punjab police teamed up with Haryana Police to get another case registered against Pathanmajra for firing at a police official.

Harmeet Singh’s advocate Simranjit Singh Saggu said this arrest is politically motivated. The government has taken this action intentionally as he raised his disappointment against AAP’s Delhi administration.
“This FIR is an outcome of the MLA’s outburst against the party. It is against the law, against the rules. It is basically a tug of war between bureaucracy and MLAs. The complaint was filed at Mohali Police Station. The victim said she was in a live-in relationship with Pathanmajra and was willing to continue with the same arrangement,” said Advocate Saggu.
Pathanmajra’s Stance on this
MLA Pathanmajra while having a conversation with a media channel, said that he had sexually explicit videos of AAP leaders from Delhi. And, this is the reason that they have booked him. She mentioned-
“They have booked me for rape. I knew this was coming. I will not take this kindly. They will use excess on me. I will go through the courts, a kabaddi game has not ensued between Delhi and Punjab.”
