CM Mann announced that the party will fulfill its pre-poll promise providing Rs 1,100 monthly allowance to the women

After much has been going on in Punjab regarding the promises made by AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) before elections, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the party will fulfill its pre-poll promise providing Rs 1,100 monthly allowance to the women of the state after the 2026 budget is passed.
Punjab CM said that his party is fully committed to this initiative and the scheme will be implemented from 2026 onwards. He recalled that even before coming to power, he had promised to provide Punjab’s women not only free travel but also ₹1,100 as part of welfare measures.
“This year we will give Rs 1,100 instead of Rs 1000 to the women. The budget however disappointed the women of the state. But the government had earlier also claimed that we have been developing a strategy and would soon fulfill the promise,” said CM Bhagwant Mann.
The announcement is expected to benefit thousands of women across Punjab, strengthening the state government’s focus on women-centric schemes and financial empowerment.
The announcement to provide monthly allowance to Punjab women was made in 2022, and is expected to be fulfilled in 2026.
Notably, in one of the interactions with media persons, CM Mann’s wife Gurpreet Kaur Mann had been heard saying that if the government has promised, it will surely fulfil it. And, then only, they will appeal to the public to vote for AAP.
As the elections are ahead in 2027, it is being speculated that all such have come to get public support.
However, the Himachal government has already taken a lead in this regard. The government has been providing a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 to the women over the age of 18.
Whereas in Haryana, women above 21 years of age will start getting Rs 2100 from November 1.
