Following it, the cabinet meeting which was scheduled for today at 4 pm was cancelled. There had been no reason stated as an official release but sources revealed that such a decision has been taken considering CM Mann’s health.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was hospitalised on Friday evening after he complained of exhaustion and low heart rate, a statement issued by Fortis Hospital in Mohali said.
He was accompanied by his wife, Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann, and admitted to the isolation ICU.
There has been official statement released by the hospital. This read: “Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was brought to Fortis Hospital, Mohali after he complained of exhaustion and low heart rate. On arrival, his vitals were assessed and have since stabilised. He is currently under observation and his pulse rate has improved. Our medical team continues to closely monitor his condition.”
Earlier, Mann was stated to be down with viral fever, sources had said.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the meeting of the Punjab Cabinet, which was to be chaired by Mann, was postponed after he fell ill.

As from the last 3 to 4 days, Mann was being treated at his residence only, he was unable to join AAP (Aam Aadmi Party’s) convener Arvind Kejriwal for the visit to flood affected areas.
This visit was planned for Thursday, however it was not possible. After hearing the news of CM Mann’s illness, AAP Kejriwal visited Mann’s residence to check on his health.
As per the sources and previous reports, CM Mann, a year back as well was diagnosed with bacterial infection. This time also, he has been diagnosed with such an infection, and has been admitted to Fortis Mohali for a few days.
