Jalandhar with each day is uncovering something new. This time, the city has set its Food Street in Company Bagh. Jalandhar Central Incharge, Nitin Kohli on Monday laid its foundation near Shri Ram Chowk as it has already been approved by the Municipal Corporation.
The food street reportedly will have 36 food stalls installed in it, having all the deliciousness for the public at just one place. The market is being set up in Company Bagh at the cost of Rs 1.19 Crore.
As per the sources, the layout of the market has been planned, soon the construction will commence. Under the prepared layout, it has been designed that the stalls will be set up in a way facing one another, and will have adequate seating facilities.
As the foundation stone of such has been laid by Nitin Kohli, he while being at the event addressed the public of Jalandhar. He added that the planned market will not only benefit locals. However, it will also serve as a key play for attracting tourists as the place will offer a great variety of food prepared with proper hygiene at one place only.
Continuing his words, Incharge Kohli further stated that the project will be completed within its planned timeframe.
At the event, Mayor Veneet Dhir as well addressed the public, highlighting that the Municipal Corporation always remains committed towards providing the best infrastructure facilities to its people.
He further demonstrated that the food street as well will serve as creating employment opportunities and will make an addition to Jalandhar’s highlights. “This will give Jalandhar a new identity,” said the Mayor.
Several of the city dignitaries attended the ceremony. These included Incharge Nitin Kohli, Mayor Vaneet Dhir, Municipal Commissioner (MC) Sandeep Rishi, Senior Deputy Mayor Balbir Bittu and Deputy Mayor Makit Subhana.
