Punjab State Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and his son have allegedly been pointed in the case of Sexual Harassment.
The District Court of Patiala on Wednesday issued notice against the both. The case reportedly has been filed by the suspended AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) Worker Shweta Jindal. The complaint mentioned that several of the sections of BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) were violated.
After it was presented to the court, it clarified that the notice is under Section 223 (1) of BNS, 2023 and should not be treated as summons. The court order read, –
“It is made clear that this notice is not to be treated as summons and respondent/accused is entitled to appear either in person or through counsel. The question of being ordered to put in personal appearance and obtain bail would arise only after the summoning order is passed.”
Reportedly, the matter has been listed for October 23 as the order mentioned, “let notice be issued to accused persons for 23.10.2025”

In the issued suspension letter, AAP mentioned that such a decision has been made after considering several of the factors which the letter states as-
- She misused the party post to threaten and intimidate a shopkeeper.
- She extended undue influence on the local police authorities to act against him.
- She sought intervention of senior Party leaders to pressurise officials, despite clear advice to refrain.
Reportedly, all these factors were taken into consideration regarding the incident that happened on August 21, 2025 at Derewal Communication Shop, Tripuri, Patiala.
