After a long gap of five years, India and China are all set to resume direct flights between both nations from October 26, 2025. India’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday made the announcement for the resumption of flights between both the countries.

The Ministry stated that such an action has been taken as a signal that the bilateral ties between both nations are easing, and the situations are getting better.

After 2020, now in 2025, there will finally be direct flights between both countries. China reportedly is India’s biggest bilateral trade partner, however, still there had been no direct flight from the past five years.

As the announcement of flight resumption has been announced, IndiGo which is India’s largest carrier would be the one to have non-stop flights every day between Kolkata and Guangzhou. It will commence from October 26, 2025.

As well, the plans are underway to commence the route that will connect New Delhi and the Chinese city.

PM Modi’s a month ago visit to China

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi last month in September visited China for the first time in his seven year tenure being in power. He visited the nation to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation regional security bloc.

While in China, the leaders of both the nations; India and China are not the rivals, should work as partners. Continuing the positive conversations, they both focused on improving the ties between both, leading towards improvement of trade ties.

PM Modi further asserted India’s sure vision towards better relations. However, he raised the concerns of the huge trade gap.
