As part of the ongoing initiative “Har Shukarvaar – Dengue Te Vaar”, the public is urged to check their residences and nearby areas each Friday to remove mosquito breeding locations.

Dengue cases are still going up in Ludhiana district, hitting a total of 361. The Civil Surgeon’s office says we had 15 fresh cases on Thursday. Right now, 35 cases are active, but luckily, no one has died from dengue yet.
We only have one reported case of chikungunya in the district. No new chikungunya infections showed up in the latest report.
Health officials say there are 29 dengue hotspot areas in Ludhiana. These areas include Gurdev Nagar, Model Town, SBS Nagar, Phase 2 Dugri, Phase 1 Dugri, Vishal Nagar, Karnail Singh Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Chandani Chowk, Jassian Road, Salem Tabri, Rahon Road, Guru Vihar, Issa Nagri, Prem Nagar, Bholla Colony, Jaspal Nagar, Agar Nagar, Barewal, Habibganj, Santokh Nagar, Preet Nagar, Gurunanak Dev Nagar, Atam Nagar, Chander Nagar, Mini Rose Garden, Vijay Nagar Dholewal, and Rishi Nagar.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Kaur wants everyone to stay vigilant and prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
She stated that dengue is transmitted via the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito, which thrives in clean stagnant water often discovered in coolers, flower pots, tires, and uncovered containers.

Residents are advised to maintain cleanliness and dryness in their surroundings, change stored water frequently, utilize mosquito repellents and nets, and cover all water containers.
Complimentary dengue testing and treatment can be accessed at every government hospital and health center throughout Ludhiana. The Health Department has verified that all hospitals are in alert mode, equipped with sufficient supplies of medications, testing kits, and platelets.
