Raja Warring’s Tarn Taran Campaign Video Triggers Outrage Among Sikh Leaders

He slammed it as disrespectful to the Sikh religion, saying Raja Warring’s actions were an insult to Sikh beliefs.

Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has found himself in another controversy during the Tarn Taran by-election campaign for allegedly inappropriately touching the jooda of Sikh children.

Raja Warring’s campaign video from Saturday has become popular, showing him playfully touching the joodas of two Sikh children and remarking, “Where are the two Sardars off to, too-too-too-too-toon…”

Sukhbir Singh Badal, who heads the Shiromani Akali Dal, wasn’t happy about what happened. He slammed it as disrespectful to the Sikh religion, saying Raja Warring’s actions were an insult to Sikh beliefs.

Sukhbir shared a 17-second clip of the event on his social media platform.

Describing it as a pattern of behavior, Sukhbir Badal stated on social media that insulting and ridiculing the Sikh community has become habitual for leaders of the Congress party, which he called “the party accountable for Sikh killings.”

He stated that Guru Sahib bestowed the Sikh community with untrimmed hair (kesh) as a divine blessing.
