Newlywed Couple’s Car Rams Into Tree: Woman Dead, Husband in Serious Condition

Badali Aala Singh Police Station’s officer in charge (SHO) Harkirat Singh stated that police received a call regarding the car crash into a tree at approximately 9 pm on Tuesday.

A newly married woman has been killed while her husband has suffered serious injuries after their vehicle hit a tree on the Balara-Manupur road in Fatehgarh Sahib, according to police reports released Wednesday.

Amardeep Kaur (21) was the name of the deceased and her spouse, Gurmukh Singh who resides in Dubali Village is still receiving treatment at Government Hospital in Chandigarh.

Badali Aala Singh Police Station’s officer in charge (SHO) Harkirat Singh stated that police received a call regarding the car crash into a tree at approximately 9 pm on Tuesday when they arrived on scene and found both individuals were still trapped inside the vehicle.

Police extricated both from the vehicle and transported them to an area hospital where Amardeep Kaur was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

According to Harkirat Singh, Gurmukh Singh sustained life-threatening injuries and transferred to the Government Hospital (Chandigarh) where he is currently listed as being in very serious condition.

Initial investigations have revealed that the vehicle lost control prior to crashing into the roadside tree. The precise cause of the accident may be determined following interviews and the technical evaluation of the vehicle. The deceased’s remains have been placed into the Civil Hospital’s mortuary for the completion of the autopsy process.

“According to Kuldeep Singh brother of the bride, the newlyweds were coming home from the bride’s father (her family’s) home where they had just performed the traditional ‘phera’ ceremony on Sunday morning, when the accident occurred. The location of the accident is about two kilometers from the village (home) of the bride and groom.

“The sound of the crash was so loud that many people who lived close by ran to the location of the accident and called the police and tried to help the couple,” reported locals to the media.

“The car that was involved in the accident was badly damaged.”
