AAP’s Baltej Pannu Questions Congress Over Alleged ‘Sale’ of Punjab CM Post

Pannu questioned why the Congress “is declining to clarify what this matter of Rs 500 crore and Rs 350 crore really is.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary Baltej Pannu on Tuesday criticized the Congress for failing to address inquiries concerning the purported “sale” of the Chief Minister’s position for Rs 500 crore and Rs 350 crore within the party.

Pannu questioned why the Congress “is declining to clarify what this matter of Rs 500 crore and Rs 350 crore really is.” He mentioned that to distract the public, the Congress first expelled Navjot Kaur from the party abruptly. Subsequently, Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa issued a legal notice to her.

“Will this notice-drama provide Punjabis with an answer to the question of whether the CM’s position was available for purchase?” Pannu also inquired of the Congress regarding the true origins of this money.

“Where was this money gathered from?” Was it obtained through coercion from industries, private schools, hospitals, or was this accumulation achieved by compiling ‘files’, as Capt Amarinder Singh frequently mentions? What caused the existence of two distinct rates?

The AAP leader requested clarification from Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar regarding this matter.

He mentioned that since Jakhar has served as the Congress president, he would be aware of who was getting the Rs 350 crore and with whom the Rs 500-crore agreement was being discussed.

“When Jakhar was competing for the CM position, he likely faced a request for Rs 350 crore as well.”

“Jakhar sahib needs to inform the public about who asked him for this money,” he stated.

Pannu urged BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma to arrange a meeting between his party leaders, Jakhar and Capt Amarinder Singh, and disclose the truth to the people of Punjab.

He needs to inquire with Capt Amarinder Singh regarding the amount of money he distributed, to whom it was given when he assumed the role of CM, and the method of this collection.

Pannu stated that rather than responding to inquiries, the Congress is sending out notices.

Pannu questioned Randhawa regarding the notice sent to Navjot Kaur, asking why he hadn’t issued a legal notice months earlier when a gangster’s mother accused him.
