Pargat Singh also mentioned that Captain Amarinder should have contemplated all this prior to his decision to join the BJP, given that the party has always been against the interests of Punjab.

Pargat Singh, Congress leader and MLA from Jalandhar Cantt, responded to former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder’s remarks about him missing the Congress party. According to Pargat Singh, the leaders who have left their political parties and joined BJP have no happiness as they are not given enough respect.
Pargat Singh also mentioned that Captain Amarinder should have realized this fact before taking the decision to join the BJP, a party that has always been against Punjab.
Pargat Singh said that such a statement does not seem to be fair to Congress party and its leaders. “He thinks that BJP can work for the welfare of Punjab whereas this party works only against Punjab. Captain is also learning this fact after that he should be more careful seeing the time…Pargat Singh thinks that the BJP does not regard the leaders of Congress or any other parties who have joined them to be of any value. BJP decisions are always anti-Punjab anyway,” Pargat Singh mentioned.
In an interview with the news portal, Amarinder Singh explained that Congress had wronged him in several different ways, and this is the reason that he betrayed the party. Nevertheless, the previous Punjab Chief Minister confessed that he somehow ‘misses Congress’.
Additionally, he mentioned that he seldom sees members of the BJP’s top leadership, remarking that the party adheres to ‘strict internal rules’. Captain stated that not even in the upcoming 2027 Punjab Elections, the BJP did not ask him about who should fight polls from where.
