Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has given fresh orders to all the restaurants, clubs and other such licensed eating and drinking places to close by 12 midnight. The main reason behind these measures is to keep the peace and order in the area.

As per the mentioned order, the restaurant, club, and other similar places would not take the new orders for food, beverages, etc. after 11:30 PM and the new customer would not be allowed to enter after that time.

Compliance with 10 dB (A) noise level is mandatory for all establishments, and all sources of noise including DJs, live orchestras/singers are required to comply with this and cut their volume by 10 PM. It is instrumental in ensuring that the noise is not at all audible outside the boundary walls of the premises. Besides this, the vehicle owners are also supposed to obey the same rule and make sure that they are compliant.

The government has completely prohibited any individual to bring or show any kind of weapon in public places such as parks, areas of worship, hotels, halls, etc. or in any party or marriage celebrations.

The ordinance has also clearly mentioned that no individual can upload songs that promote the use of weapons or songs that glorify violence, such as fights, or, in addition, no pictures or video material can be posted with weapons on the internet. These orders will stay in operation till March 7, 2026.
