Tragedy in Pune District: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Dies in Aircraft Crash

As per the information received, an incident took place when the Learjet 45 aircraft (registration VT-SSK), which was being operated by VSR, was about to land in Pune’s Baramati area.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ajit Pawar, who is the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, along with five others were reportedly died in an airplane crash that occurred in Pune district on Wednesday morning.

As per the information received, an incident took place when the Learjet 45 aircraft (registration VT-SSK), which was being operated by VSR, was about to land in Pune’s Baramati area.

As per the initial reports, it appears that the aircraft faced technical issues when landing at the Baramati airport and the airplane crash-landed during its descent.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) claimed that Ajit Pawar, who serves as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, was present with 2 more personnel (1 PSO and 1 attendant) and 2 crew (PIC and FO) members on the flight. Reportedly, no one survived the crash according to the first information received.

Deputy CM Pawar’s family reached to the location of the tragedy. Coincidently, his wife and party MP Sunetra, and son, Parth, were preparing to depart for Baramati from Delhi, along with the leader’s cousin and NCP-SP Working President Supriya Sule, when the incident occurred.

During the elections for the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar was on his way to Baramati from Mumbai to address a public meeting.

The accident site at Baramati was accessed by emergency agencies alongside leading safety personnel. Ditching was done to rescue teams right after the plane lost its control in the landing process.

Various bodies were sent to Baramati Medical College. The Supreme Police (SP) of Pune has reported that the bodies are being identified at the moment.

A group of representatives from DGCA has come to the place where the plane accident occurred.

The plane crash was only details that were missed. The initial reports say that the people who were nearby had made their way to the place where the plane went down.

PM Modi Share Condolences

After the information of Deputy CM Pawar’s death surfaced, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi while taking it to his ‘X’ previously known as Twitter account shared the condolences.

In the shared message, he wrote that Ajit Pawar was very hardworking and a leader that always kept his people over everything. The knowledge he had of the administration was of much importance.

“His untimely demise is very shocking and saddening. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti,” wrote PM Modi.
