The YouTube Video captioned, “We are being harassed in India. Sikh banned in Zudio?” received mixed response

A viral clip that was set in a Zudio outlet in Imphal, Manipur displayed a huge argument that ensued amid two Sikh gentlemen and the store manager. As per reports, the store security person had asked the two men to keep their ‘kirpans’ outside, to which the men engaged in an argument and asked if the store was in India.
Finally, the store manager was called and both men contended that Sikhs are allowed to practice their religion and carry kirpans as per the Constitution of India.
Uploaded first on YouTube channel Prabh Singh Talk, the video was captioned “We are being harassed in India. Sikh banned in Zudio?” The video, however, received a mixed response.
Many users came out in support of the store management and said that carrying a full-size sword when out to buy swords wouldn’t only intimidate other customers but also the staff. A user said that the Constitution might allow Sikhs to carry a kirpan as a religiously mandated article but certain security restrictions on its size and style would apply when in public places.
“Religious freedom cannot be used to justify intimidation. Misuse of religious exemptions can invite action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” said another.
