Shukrana to Waheguru: Gora Gill reacts to Removal of Khaira’s “Illegally occupied Land”

For Gill, the current enforcement against Khaira is a “shukrana” that the same laws Khaira once weaponized are now being applied to him.

Following the recent administrative action at the residence of Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, BJP leader Amandeep Singh (Gora Gill) has come forward to set the record straight, framing the event not as political rivalry, but as a long-overdue victory for the rule of law and the common citizens of Bholath.

While the Khaira has characterized the removal of a boundary wall as a targeted attack, Gora Gill argues that it is a simple case of rectifying an illegal encroachment. According to Gill, the structure was not part of a private home but was built over a public street intended for the village’s use.

“A chosen representative is expected to protect public property, not seize it for personal luxury,” Gill stated.

He asserted that Khaira had occupied the common street to create a private parking area and a badminton court, effectively depriving the villagers of their right of way. Gill pointed out that even Khaira’s own team eventually opened the gate themselves, which he views as a tacit admission that the structure was legally indefensible.

“I left it to Waheguru,” says Gora Gill recalling his house’s Demolition

Addressing the media channel “Akhar,” Gora Gill added his perspective that three years ago, demolition of his own house was politically motivated by the MLA Khaira. He claimed that Khaira during his tenure took an advantage of his power, acted over the bureaucracy and the judiciary.

Sharing that incident, Gill added that Khaira targeted hi property without any legal grounds. There was no legal notice, he used his connections to target the house.

“When they came for my house, they did not just remove a gate; they turned a home into a heap of rubble,” Gill recalled.

He explained that he did not seek a violent confrontation then, but instead “left the justice to the Waheguru. For Gill, the current enforcement against Khaira is a “shukrana” that the same laws Khaira once weaponized are now being applied to him.

Standing Up to a “Political Monopoly”

Gill framed his struggle as a fight for the youth of Bholath. He accused the Khaira family of maintaining a “50-year-old political monopoly” that actively crushes any emerging local leaders who might challenge their dominance.

“He could not tolerate a local youth from the village rising through the ranks and doing real work for the people,” Gill said, referring to his time as a halqa in-charge where he claims to have built the roads and stadiums that the Khaira family neglected for decades.

He views the recent administrative actions as a sign that the era of Authoritarian Politics in Bholath is coming to an end.

Exposing “Double Standards”

Gill challenged the MLA’s “Panthic” and “Pro-Punjab” image. He cited several instances where he believes Khaira prioritized personal ambition over the community:

  • Political Inconsistency: Gill questioned how Khaira could claim to be a champion of Sikh issues while jumping from party to party from AAP to his own PEP (Punjab Ekta Party), and back to Congress, based on “where the money and power were”.
  • The Khalra Case: He highlighted the alleged betrayal of Bibi Khalra, stating that Khaira used her name to collect funds from NRIs and then abandoned her, leading her to famously say that Khaira “passed away” for her politically.
  • Targeting the Innocent: Gill alleged that Khaira has a history of using “blackmail” and “false police cases” to intimidate anyone who doesn’t follow his lead.

Gora Gill noted that his response is not one of “hate” but of “accountability.” He mentions that no one, regardless of their political power or status, should be allowed to occupy public land.

“He cries about a single wall today, but he showed no mercy when he tried to destroy my future,” Gill said. And, such action justifiably speaks that law is same for both powerful and common man.
