The case stems from a complaint filed by Gurpreet Singh, another resident of Boolpur village. In his statement to the authorities, Gurpreet alleged that the couple approached him with various investment schemes.

The local police have booked a married couple in an alleged fraud case involving Rs 25 lakh. The accused reportedly duped a fellow villager by promising attractive returns through investments in real estate and business ventures.
Based on the investigation, the Talwandi Chaudharian police registered a formal FIR against Pritpal Singh and his wife, Mandeep Kaur, both residents of Boolpur village.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Gurpreet Singh, another resident of Boolpur village. In his statement to the authorities, Gurpreet alleged that the couple approached him with various investment schemes. They reportedly used the pretext of high-profit margins in the property market and private business deals to gain his confidence.
Trusting the couple’s assurances, Gurpreet handed over a total of Rs 25 lakh to them in multiple installments over a period of time.
The situation soured when the complainant realized that the promised returns were not materializing. According to the police report, Gurpreet alleged that the accused failed to provide any documentation proving that they had actually invested his money as promised.
When the victim began demanding his original capital back, the couple allegedly resorted to stalling tactics. They continued to delay the matter and avoided providing clear information regarding the status of the funds. After waiting for a considerable period and realizing he had been misled, Gurpreet finally approached the police for intervention.
The police initiated a preliminary inquiry into the matter, examining the documents and bank records provided by the complainant. Following this review, the Talwandi Chaudharian police found enough evidence to move forward with criminal charges.
“We have registered a case against Pritpal Singh and Mandeep Kaur based on the preliminary investigation. Our teams are currently conducting raids to trace the accused and bring them into custody for further questioning,” stated ASI Balbir Singh.
The police are currently investigating whether other individuals in the area have fallen victim to similar schemes orchestrated by the duo. Further legal proceedings are underway as the search for the couple continues.
