He was also missing from important party events, such as Arvind Kejriwal’s press conference after his acquittal and a ‘Jan Sabha’ at Jantar Mantar, where the AAP leader fiercely criticized the ruling BJP.

In a significant blow to AAP MP Raghav Chadha, the party has contacted the Rajya Sabha Secretariat seeking his dismissal from the role of the party’s deputy leader in the Upper House and asking that he not be given speaking time under AAP’s allotment. The party has requested that the Secretariat designate Ashok Mittal as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.
The action occurs as Chadha remains quiet on important events involving the AAP and its senior leaders, indicating a potential divide within the party.
Significantly, Chadha also did not publicly respond when a court released AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and others of all allegations in the Delhi excise policy case in February.
He was also missing from important party events, such as Arvind Kejriwal’s press conference after his acquittal and a ‘Jan Sabha’ at Jantar Mantar, where the AAP leader fiercely criticized the ruling BJP.
Once considered a close aide of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Chadha has been associated with the party since its inception. He has served as the party’s national treasurer and is a member of its Political Affairs Committee, the highest decision-making body. He has also played a role in coordinating the opposition INDIA bloc.
This is not the first occasion Chadha has been criticized for his slow reaction. Previously, he mentioned recovering from eye surgery in the UK as the reason for his silence regarding Kejriwal’s arrest in the liquor scam case before the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
