A police investigation uncovered that the suspect has a criminal history with two prior cases against him, one being under the NDPS Act, and authorities noted that the robbery was carried out to secure funds for drugs.

Jalandhar Police have quicklyresolved the recent robbery at a Punjab National Bank branch in Bank Enclave Phase 2 Khurla Kingra, with the crime, executed at gunpoint, being unraveled within hours through CCTV footage and prompt police action.
The theft occurred in just a few minutes.
Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur stated that the suspect entered the bank and executed the robbery in just minutes, and shortly after the event, police teams were mobilized and a significant search operation commenced.
The suspect fled in the direction of Khambra.
According to official reports, the suspects attempted to flee by heading towards the Khambra area, and during their getaway they changed outfits and took a different path to evade capture; however, the police monitored their movements closely by reviewing footage from over 50 CCTV cameras placed throughout the region.
Using this CCTV network and effective coordination, the police successfully identified and apprehended the primary suspect, Simarjit Singh (alias Amrik Singh), the son of a former DSP, from whom they seized a revolver, three live cartridges, and cash associated with the robbery.
