Punjab Pilgrimage turns Tragic: 3 Dead, 30 Injured in Kangra Gorge Accident

As per the information received, a tractor trolley carrying devotees from Punjab overturned into a deep gorge on NH-503 near Dhaliyara. The pilgrims were heading towards Jwalamukhi from Maa Chintpurni Temple.

A group of people gathered around an overturned blue tractor in a wooded area, with some individuals appearing to assist or assess the situation.

A wave of shock has gripped Punjab after a major tragedy killed three devotees and left 30 to 32 people injured. The tragedy reportedly took place on Friday (April 9, 2026) in Kangra district.

As per the information received, a tractor trolley carrying devotees from Punjab overturned into a deep gorge on NH-503 near Dhaliyara. The pilgrims were heading towards Jwalamukhi from Maa Chintpurni Temple.

The vehicle reportedly fell about 90-100 feet, killed 3 devotees on the spot, leaving around 30-32 people injured, including children. Six among critically injured were shifted to Tanda Medical College, Punjab.

Following the incident, the Kangra Police have initiated an investigation.
