Sultanpur Lodhi: Two Children drown in Kali Bein as Mother rescued in alleged Suicide Attempt

A routine evening turned into a horrific tragedy in Sultanpur Lodhi on Tuesday when a woman allegedly jumped into the Kali Bein with her two young children in an apparent suicide attempt. While the woman was rescued, both children drowned.

The incident occurred near the bridge of the Kali Bein in Sultanpur Lodhi. According to eyewitnesses, the woman, identified as Simran Kaur, wife of Bharpoor Singh and resident of village Adalat Chak, was reportedly under mental stress. She took her two sons Veer Pratap Singh (6) and Gur Pratap Singh (3) to the riverside and jumped into the water.

Upon receiving information, the Sultanpur Lodhi police reached the spot, took custody of the bodies, and shifted them to the Civil Hospital mortuary for further procedures. Investigating officer Baldev Singh stated that the police have initiated a probe into the matter and are examining all possible angles considering the seriousness of the case.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
