Amidst Punjab Floods, The Punjab State Education Minister Harjot Bains has made a major announcement regarding Schools, Colleges, and Universities across the State. He has announced the institution opening from tomorrow (September 8, 2025)
Following the situation in Punjab, schools are closed since August 27. After such a long period of closures, now, there has come ahead an announcement that classes will resume as usual from Tomorrow.
All the government schools for students will open from September 9, 2025 (Tuesday), however, tomorrow (September 8, 2025) it will open for teachers to check the safety of the students.
He made an announcement through his ‘X’ formerly known as twitter account. He announced complete information and detailed instructions regarding the opening of schools.
In the announcement, he has included all the Private and Government schools, colleges and universities.
What does the announcement say?
Important Information & Instructions Regarding the Reopening of Educational Institutions in Punjab are as follows:
- All government, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities in the state will reopen tomorrow as usual. If any school or college is affected by floods, the decision to keep it closed will be taken by the respective District Deputy Commissioner.
- The management of private schools must ensure that school buildings and classrooms are completely safe, so that the safety of students and teachers is not compromised.
- On September 8, all government schools in the state will remain closed for students. Teachers, however, will be present in schools, and cleaning work will be carried out with the assistance of SMCs (School Management Committees), Panchayats, Municipal Councils, and Corporations.
- Teachers will conduct a thorough inspection of school buildings. If any issue or damage is found, it must be reported immediately to the District Deputy Commissioner and the Engineering Department.
- From September 9, all government schools will reopen and function as usual.
