Richi KP (36), son of former Member of Parliament and Akali leader Mohinder Singh KP died in a road accident on Saturday night (September 13, 2025) in between 11am and 12 pm. This late night accident took place near Mata Rani Chowk, Model Town, Jalandhar.
Richi KP reportedly was in Fortuner and while the incident happened, Creta first collided with two vehicles and then hit the deceased. At the time of incident, there were four vehicles involved and the people in all those were safely rescued. However, Richi KP lost his life.
All the vehicles involved in the accident are in the custody of police officials and sources reveal that the investigations are initiated to get into the details of the matter.
While vehicles were collapsed, debris from all those was found over the 50 foot area near the accident site. The police have mentioned that to find the cause of the incident, they are reviewing CCTV footage.
After the accident happened, people in great numbers gathered at the spot. And, while talking to media persons, one of Richi’s friends told that Richi was known for his calm nature, used to drive carefully. He added that Richi had studied law and did not stay out for such late hours.

Mohinder Singh KP is one of the prominent political leaders of Punjab. He is a former Member of Parliament (MP) and Akali leader. He has been in the spotlight for several of the years for his political background.
He has served as MLA from Jalandhar for three times and was elected to Lok Sabha in 2009. At the time when he was elected as Lok Sabha member, he was part of Indian National Congress (INC). Later he joined the Shiromani Akali Dal Party (SAD).
