Water and Food
We often feel the need of water while eating or after finishing a meal but on this ayurveda says that water after or while drinking hampers the digestion. In ayurveda they state that water extinguish the inner fire formed after food that helps in digestion.
The science behind this statement is that when we consume anything hydrochloric acid is formed in the stomach . If a person drinks water with food, hydrochloric acid formed gets mixed with water which slower down the metabolic activity and can result in gastrointestinal problems.
Banana and Milk
The youth that follows gym or diet plans usually take banana shake or banana smoothies as pre workout or post workout ritual. But the shake that is highly considered as one of the best drink for health can lead to various problems.
The science behind it says that banana is fruit that is rich in fiber, due to this it is hard digest. On the other hand, milk contains lactic acid and is rich in its protein content and both item’s protein and fiber is one reason to avoid this combination. The other major reason is that it milk and banana when together enter the body milk gets curdled due to the high fibrous banana which can cause bloating and indigestion.
Fruits Direct after Food
Many people like to consume fruits direct after food because it leads to logged digestion. Fruits when follows by heavy meals can get fermented in stomach and can hamper food absorption resulting in intolerable discomfort.
