Air India passengers can now fly to six more Canadian cities besides just Vancouver and London Heathrow.

Air India is restarting its codeshare partnership with Air Canada, both as part of Star Alliance. This means way more flight choices and easier travel between India and Canada. It will commence on December 2, 2025.
So, Air India passengers can now fly to six more Canadian cities besides just Vancouver and London Heathrow. You can book Air India flights that are actually on Air Canada going from Vancouver to places like Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montréal, and Halifax. Or, from London Heathrow to Vancouver and Calgary.
And, those flying Air Canada can easily reach Indian cities such as Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kochi through Delhi, or Delhi and Mumbai if you transit in London Heathrow.
Air India’s owner, Campbell Wilson, said this is a big deal because loads of people fly between India and Canada every year to visit family, study, see the sights, or do business. He mentioned that linking up with Air Canada makes things simpler for tons of travelers daily. Also, he added that Air India wants to make global travel easy.
If you are flying with both airlines, you get perks such as one ticket for everything, one baggage allowance, fast-track services, loyalty perks, and can chill in Air India’s Maharaja Club, plus Air Canada’s Star Alliance lounge network. You can also collect and spend points on either airline’s loyalty programs.
Both airlines are going to add these codeshare flights to their websites and travel agent systems soon, once the government approves.
People in the know think this is good timing because more and more people want to travel between Canada and India, like students, business people, and the Indian community there.
