“Punjab is a state of giving respect to daughters. But such things are very disappointing,” sated the Jathedar

The Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj on Thursday demanded hanging for the accused in the murder case of a 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar and direct the respective authorities to immediate the cops, who are said to have been careless in the first probe.
Jathedar, who went to the family of the victim and made his regrets, criticized very much the police who did not take any action when the family reported for the first time the girl was missing.
He said that the accused’s house was not searched properly and that this was the death’s way of seeing the world bright and no one could stop it. People doing such negligence should be taken out of service, he declared.
Gargaj participated in the bhog of the Akhand Path and the antim ardas, where he offered prayers for the girl and later spoke to the gathering. He described the crime as an expression of a “devil mindset” and referred to the incident as very disturbing and heartbreaking.
“Punjab is a state of giving respect to daughters. But such things are very disappointing in the conscience of the society,” he further remarked.
The Jathedar, who is responsible for the Akal Takht, stated that the Akal Takht and the entire Sikh community are at their side through this situation.
Moreover, he pointed out that justice should be enacted in a timely manner.
He emphasized his stance that the convicted individuals need to receive the highest penalty possible.
