Flowers are the whole beauty in itself. Plants that can be consumed are of major benefits such plants are known as edible plants. 

Flowers are the prettiest part of a plant. These come in various colors, different fragrances. Flowers are the major parts that help with formation of seeds. Seeds help in various types of cultivation and the flora goes on. Flowers are the whole beauty in itself. When we talk about the benefits of plants. Plants that can be consumed are of major benefits such plants are known as edible plants. 

Flower Chutneys that Serve the Best Benefits

Chutneys can be considered as the best way to consume the flowers that can provide us with ample nutrition. 

Hibiscus

It is known as Gudhal in India.This flower has many antioxidant properties. Hibiscus is rich in vitamin C and also is used for herbal teas  and sometimes is used in antiseptics.

Hibiscus Chutney

To prepare this chutney, take hibiscus petals. Ensure that the petals are pest free and no chemical has been used on it. 

  • Blend the petals along with cumin, jaggery, salt and jaggery. 
  • Blend it to a smooth paste and after that heat up mustard oil. 
  • In heated oil, add slit green chilli and mustard seeds, and add onto the paste. 

Chutney is ready to be served. 

Marigold

It is a widely grown plant in India. Marigold has the sour and spice hint at the same time. This flower helps with better digestion. It is great for vision and promotes dermatological conditions. 

Marigold Chutney

Marigold chutney will have the major flavor of sourness. For the chutney-

  • Wash the flowers well. Flowers should be pest free else can lead to issues that can be injurious to large extent
  • Add the clean petals to blending jar and a bit of water to blend 
  • For flavor, in heated mustard oil, add jaggery and onion in it with salt and black pepper
  • At last, sprinkle it with cumin powder. 

It is ready to serve, when it comes to room temperature.

Mustard

Also called by the name Sarson. Mostly grown in Punjab. It provides many benefits as it is packed with many antioxidants. Mustard helps with increased immunity. 

Mustard Chutney

The significant flavor of mustard is light and mild. Use the flowers directly from the farm and avoid buying it from florists as it has chemical and pest spray. 

  • Blend the mustard leaves along with its small stem . 
  • In a heated oil, add green chopped chillies, onion, garlic and cumin in it, at last add jaggery powder and salt. 

Once cooled, it is ready to be served.
