Constipation: Cause and Cure

When a person suffers constipation, he or she experiences hard and dry stool, this happens because the body absorbs a significant amount of water.

Constipation refers to a condition in which a person faces difficulty in excretion. When the stool ‘s movement in the body is slower and a lot of pressure is felt around the abdominal area, a person is said to be constipated. Constipation can cause many problems like:

  • Cramps
  • Bloating
  • Acid formation
  • Ulcers 

Triggers of Constipation

When a person suffers constipation, he or she experiences hard and dry stool, this happens because the body absorbs a significant amount of water. There are many factors that leads to constipation such as:

  • Low Fluid Intake: when a body runs on low water or low fluid, it absorbs the necessary water from the food stored in the body , the inefficacy of water leads to hard stool and constipation.
  • Sedentary Lifestyle: lethargy and no physical activity leads to low metabolism.The digestive system slows down when the body lacks motion which leads to problems like indigestion and constipation. 
  • Lack of Fiber in the Body: Fiber is one of the main components of a nutritious body, the diet that lacks fiber is the most common reason that hampers the digestive health causing constipation. 
  • Delaying the Bowel: some people ignore the urge to go to the toilet and controls bowel movement which delays the bowel permanently and can result in long term constipation. 

Treatment of Constipation

  • Use a Foot Table while Sitting to Poop: Whenever one sits on a modern toilet seat, the rectum comes to a 90 degree angle which makes it hard to pass the stool. When a person places a foot table, the body comes in a squat position which turns the rectum’s angle making it easy to pass stool.
  • Incorporate a Fiber Rich Diet: Include more and more fibers into daily diet such as different berries, seeds like pumpkin seeds, melon seeds and flax seeds. Ensure the intake of whole grains. 
  • Exercise Regularly: Make sure to workout on a regular basis. Go for a short walk after the last meal, It helps with the passage and movement of food from the body ensuring that it is digested.
