As per the information, 750 hospitals have already been listed and, before rolling out the scheme, the government intends on listing a total of 1,000 hospitals.

The Punjab Government is prepared to implement its Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana statewide in mid-January. A provisional launch date of January 15 has been set for this initiative, which will offer health insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family annually.
Although the scheme was unveiled by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in July, its launch was postponed as the government finalized the insurer and empaneled hospitals. Government sources have informed The Tribune that United India Insurance has been engaged to offer this cashless insurance to three crore Punjabis.
The program will encompass more than 2,000 medical treatments and surgeries at the participating hospitals. “We began enrolling families for this universal health insurance initiative in October, starting as a pilot in Tarn Taran and Barnala.”
Almost 46,000 families, comprising 1.50 lakh individuals, have been registered and provided with the Mukh Mantri Sehat Cards.
The government is finalizing hospitals to be listed for providing this cashless medical care.
According to information received, as many as 750 hospitals have already been listed and, before rolling out the scheme, the government intends on listing a total of 1,000 hospitals.
The cost of medical treatment will be paid for up to a maximum amount of INR 1,00,000 by the insurance company, with the remaining amounts to be met by the state government.
The agreement with the insurance provider will start with a duration of two years.
It can be noted that under the earlier universal health coverage plan of the state government, Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, initiated by the former Congress administration, families were receiving cashless insurance up to Rs 5 lakh.
In the updated plan, the insurance coverage has been increased twofold. An allocation of Rs 778 crore was earmarked in the state Budget for this fiscal year to implement this scheme.
