As per the issued advisory, all the schools; Government, Aided and Private schools will follow the revised timings.
Amid the excessive cold wave conditions in Punjab, the state board of Education has revised the school timings across the state. According to the revised timings, the school timings will be from 10:00 am to 3:20 pm. These will be applicable from January 16, 2026 to January 21, 2026.
The changes have been announced by the Directorate of School Education (Secondary), Punjab.
As per the issued advisory, all the schools; Government, Aided and Private schools will follow the revised timings. The notice states that-
- The timings of all the Primary Schools will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
- The timings for all the middle, high and secondary schools will be from 10:00 a to 3:20 pm
Such a decision has been taken considering the safety and security of the students across the state. The order has been sent to all authorities concerned, including district education officers, school heads, and administrative officials for strict compliance.
The education department has clarified that these temporary changes aim to protect students from harsh morning temperatures and have directed all schools to follow the revised schedule without exception.
