CM Mann lays Foundation Stone of Govt College in Ajnala, claims opposition looted Punjab for Years

“The opposition lacks a vision for Punjab.” They are only waiting for a chance to loot the people and the state.

While laying the foundation stone for a ₹15 crore Government Degree College in Ajnala, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated on Monday that the Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP had jointly exploited Punjab for years, undermining its institutions and compelling generations of youth to seek opportunities overseas.

The Chief Minister stated that the upcoming college, to be named in honor of the esteemed scholar Baba Ghamchuk Ji, symbolizes the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s commitment to revitalizing Rangla Punjab through education, opportunity, and community involvement.

The Chief Minister stated that although the state government will offer all possible amenities and institutional backing, it is equally vital for every Punjabi to assist according to their ability so that Punjab can become a Rangla Punjab, where children are not forced to emigrate in pursuit of a future.

Speaking to a crowd, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann mentioned that internal conflicts are rampant among these parties due to their absence of a solid plan for the people’s benefit.

“The opposition lacks a vision for Punjab.” They are merely biding their time to plunder the citizens and the state’s assets.

“Their aspirations will remain unachieved because the people of Punjab are intelligent and courageous, recognizing the questionable nature of such leaders,” he stated, noting that Punjabis will never permit these forces to prevail in their wicked schemes.

“This college will guarantee that young people from the border region can seek higher education near their residences. “A total of ₹15 crore will be invested in building this institution on 15 acres of land,” he stated, thanking the Bikraur village panchayat and locals for contributing the land for the initiative.

The Chief Minister stated that young people from approximately 50 surrounding villages will gain from the college, with more than 2,000 students anticipated to register in the upcoming years.

The Chief Minister claimed that students from the village that contributed land for the college will receive free education at the new institution. He mentioned that the college would be named in honor of Baba Ghamchuk ji Maharaj as a tribute to the respected spiritual leader. “Parents need to secure quality education for their kids to prevent them from having to seek opportunities abroad,” stated CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Addressing the migration issue, the Chief Minister stated that negativity among the youth needs to be tackled to ensure reverse migration pick up speed. “Previous administrations overlooked this issue and damaged the system, driving young individuals to seek opportunities abroad.”

He further stated, “Our government takes pride in having offered regular employment to over 63,000 young individuals solely based on their merit.”

Addressing the worries of those living near the border, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that the Punjab government is doing its utmost for their well-being, recognizing them as genuine patriots of the country. He stated that in a significant relief for farmers in Punjab’s border region, the Central Government has granted preliminary approval to relocate the border fence nearer to the international boundary.

“This will enable unrestricted farming of thousands of acres of land that presently exists outside the fencing.” Previously, farmers had to cross the fence with BSF protection to reach their own fields along the 532 km India–Pakistan border. “After continuous efforts, this long-standing problem has at last made headway,” he stated.
