The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) charged AAP with deceiving the public regarding its universal health insurance, asserting that the real advantage from it would be only a small part of the guaranteed coverage.
Senior SAD leader NK Sharma stated that while the scheme guaranteed medical assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh per family each year, the government would only contribute 10 percent of this amount.
The government claims it will implement the scheme with an expenditure of Rs 1,200 crore. This is due to the fact that the medical insurance is limited to Rs 1 lakh per individual under the initiative, with the government agreeing to cover the remaining claims using the resources of the State Health Mission,” he stated
