Due to the grand Shobha Yatra scheduled in Jalandhar on January 31, 2026, for Sri Guru Ravidas Ji’s Prakash Purab, a holiday has been declared forall schools.
Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal released an official directive declaring that all government and private schools and colleges in Jalandhar district will be closed on January 31. The decision was made considering the religious feelings of the public as well as the safety and welfare of the students.
Nonetheless, the order specified that the holiday will not be applicable to schools and colleges where board or university exams are set for that date. In these instances, the tests will be carried out according to the established timetable.
