Local resident Rakesh Kumar stated that the fetus was in very bad condition with worms observed on it and asserted that the fetus seemed to be approximately five days old.
A shocking incident has come into light from was the Punjabi Bagh locality of Jalandhar after a fetus was discovered in a garbage heap. Reports indicate that the fetus was initially seen by a woman who was collecting garbage in the area and she immediately informed a nearby resident after which the matter was reported to the police.

Police officials said they have been informed about the incident and a team from the health department has also been notified to take further action however as per locals even after more than two hours of the discovery no official team had reached the spot which led to anger and concern among residents many of whom gathered at the site.
