Gill did not come out of his flat for a long time. His driver and gunman then opened the bathroom door and found him lying unconscious.

Ravinder Singh Gill, a Regional Transport Authority (RTA) officer, was found dead in the bathroom of his flat at Jalandhar Heights on Monday morning. Initial reports suggest he may have suffered a heart attack, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after a post-mortem examination.

According to police, Gill did not come out of his flat for a long time, which raised suspicion. His driver and gunman then opened the bathroom door and found him lying unconscious. The police were informed immediately and reached the spot soon after.

Gill was originally from Bathinda, Punjab. His family has arrived in Jalandhar to receive the body, and police are expected to record their statements as part of the investigation.

Gill had earlier served as a Motor Vehicle Inspector in Bathinda. Following his promotion, he was transferred to the Chandigarh head office and was recently given additional charge as RTA in Jalandhar.

He is survived by his family, including two sons. One of his sons was married just a few days ago. Police said further action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
