Sources indicate that the complaint was lodged months prior, alleging that Bhullar made inappropriate phone calls and sent objectionable messages to the woman.

The Canal Colony police in Bathinda have filed a case against Hartej Singh Bhullar, the AAP social media in-charge for the Bathinda Rural constituency, for allegedly sending inappropriate messages and harassing a widow who works on a contract at Bathinda Civil Hospital.
Sources indicate that the complaint was lodged months prior, alleging that Bhullar made inappropriate phone calls and sent objectionable messages to the woman. It was claimed that the accused’s political ties hindered police action.
The case was filed following continuous pressure from various social organizations that had threatened protests and raised the issue to high-ranking officials.
DSP City-I Amritpal Singh Bhaati stated that the FIR was filed promptly following the complaint.
“The complainant mentioned that she had not provided a statement earlier because of fear of social stigma,” the DSP stated.
The suspect had not been apprehended yet.
