Jalandhar: AAP Leader Lucky Oberoi Shot Dead in Daylight Firing Incident outside Model Town Gurudwara

Two attackers on a two-wheeler opened multiple shots on Leader Oberoi while he was parking his car outside Gurudwara in Model Town.

Another incident of firing has come ahead from Jalandha, has gripped the city with deep saddening as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Leader, Lucky Oberoi shot dead today (Friday) morning.

As per the information received, two attackers on a two-wheeler opened multiple shots on Leader Oberoi while he was parking his car outside Gurudwara in Model Town. While he was in his car, five bullets hit him.

Shortly after the incident occured, he was taken to the hospital for treatment, however, he died of the major injuries.

Upon receiving the information of the incident, the police reached the spothas led the investigatipns.

Punjab Leader’s Stance

There has been seen rapid increase in the broadlight murder cases.This has raised the safety concerns across the state. With such an incident occured, various Punjab leaders while taking the matter to thier ‘X’handles earlier known as Twitter has raised the questions of safety to the ruling government.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Leader Bikram Singh Majithia wrote, “This has become a new norm in Punjab. Kill anyone anywhere as per whims and fancies.”

Continuing with the words, he added that “Shame on you Bhagwant Mann, You and your DGP Punjab Police have completely destroyed Punjab. Total collapse of Law and Order and still you are not ready to admit it.

Moreover, Pratap Singh Bajwa (Leader of Opposition, Punjab Legislative Assembly) wote, “Punjab today is gripped by fear, gang violence, and administrative paralysis while the AAP government remains busy with PR and excuses.”

“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann must answer: who is responsible for this complete breakdown?” added Fprmer Punjab Congress President Bajwa.

He even added that, “The shocking daylight murder of AAP leader Lucky Oberoi outside a gurdwara in Jalandhar, exposes the grim reality: if even ruling party leaders aren’t safe, what hope remains for ordinary citizens?”

Chief SAD, Sukhbir Singh Badal taking the matter of ‘X’ questioned AAP government’s “War on Gangsters.”

“Where is the @PunjabPoliceInd’s much hyped ‘war on gangsters’? This is anarchy, not governance! @BhagwantMann, you don’t deserve to be in the chair even for one more day,” wrote SAD Badal.

Highlighting the situations in Punjab, SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal added, “Nearly 25 murders in January 2026 alone, after 9 in the first week of the year. They are happening everywhere, be it a court complex, busy bazar, wedding venue or even outside a Gurdwara Sahib.”
